Backend Engineer — Fleet Platform

XENFLEET generates millions of signed telemetry packets per day. We need a backend engineer who can build the ingestion pipelines, query APIs, and data models that turn raw vehicle data into actionable fleet intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate high-throughput telemetry ingestion (NATS / MQTT)
- Build REST and WebSocket APIs consumed by fleet management dashboards
- Implement geofencing, event detection, and driver behaviour scoring
- Own the signature verification pipeline for incoming device packets
- Maintain PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB schemas for time-series vehicle data
- Instrument services with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Grafana)
Requirements
- 3+ years backend development experience (Go, Python, or Node.js)
- Experience with time-series data and IoT data pipelines
- Understanding of message brokers (NATS, MQTT, Kafka)
- PostgreSQL proficiency — schema design, query optimisation, indexing
- Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes deployments
- Bonus: experience with elliptic curve cryptography or vehicle telematics
